Sumayya joined Turning Point’s team in April 2022.
She earned her B.A is psychology at Hunter College and is working towards getting her Master’s in Education. As a daughter of an immigrant mother who has struggled and worked hard, she aspires to create an open space where women can feel welcomed and supported. She wants to raise awareness to the struggles of Senior Muslim Women, provide emotional support and educate them. It is crucial that no matter what age you are, you feel empowered and confident. She was raised in New York and speaks Urdu.
